New discoveries in drugs and medicinal products are happening rapidly. One of the greatest challenges to the
pharmaceutical industry is to design and optimize manufacturing processes for the efficient and safe production of future pharmaceutical products.To achieve this, the authors maintain that a new type of professional must be trained to be fluent in the language of basic chemical process engineering and knowledgeable in the engineering science and unit operations of pharamaceutical manufacturing.
