The Problems in Biology Education
There is a growing realization among science educators that changes are needed in what and how students are taught. Among the problems in biology education that have been cited are the lack of active student participation and the stress put on memorization rather than analytical skills (Carter et al. 1990; Miller & Cheetham 1990).
