Article: India extolled, US and EU gets banging from Human Rights Watch

Washington, Jan. 19 -- "Torture and mistreatment have been a deliberate part of the Bush administration's counterterrorism strategy, undermining the global defense of human rights"-Human Rights Watch World Report 2006.

What could be more vitriolic than this for Bush administration as the opening lines of the report condemn both US and EU (European Union) for "using illegal tactics to fight terrorism." But at the same time, the report appreciated India for becoming more transparent and strict against human rights violation.
