Buckling under pressure from the Street administration, City Council members yanked a strongly worded resolution that could've effectively quashed a Philadelphia Gas Works proposal to build a liquid natural gas (LNG) terminal on the Delaware River. Councilwoman Joan Krajewski, primary sponsor of the draft resolution, insists she may introduce the resolution in the future.
The Oct. 27 draft resolution asserts "Council's intention not to enact any legislation needed to implement" an LNG terminal and expresses City Council's "unqualified opposition" to the proposal.
