The Pathology of Trauma 3rd ed, edited by J. K. Mason and B. N. Purdue, 516 pp, with illus, London, England, Arnold/Hodder Headline Group, 2000.
The Pathology of Trauma makes an excellent addition to the library of those interested in the investigation of traumatic injury or unexpected death. Medical terms are used economically, and mechanisms of trauma are explained succinctly. The supporting color images obviate the pathologic concepts of trauma for the nonforensic practitioner, yet show subtleties necessary for forensic pathology practice.
