Spokane Federal Credit Union has faced hurdles to expansion as it has sought to meet stiff competition from several state-chartered credit unions here, says its president and CEO, Byron Edgett.

State-chartered credit unions can offer their services to a much broader range of prospective customers than federally chartered credit unions such as Spokane Federal, Edgett says.
