He is better known than any movie star, sports hero or rock singer, even though he hasn't changed the style of his clothes in more than 100 years.
He's that long-legged fellow in the red-andwhite-striped pants and old-fashioned frock coat with the tails flopped behind. He has a prominent nose, narrow face and beard that juts out defiantly. He wears a stovepipe hat with a band of stars on the bottom half.
He's everybody's uncle-Uncle Sam.
The Uncle of Our Country
Uncle Sam is nothing less than the symbol for the United States of America.
In fact, he is America.
