Palm Springs is doing what it can to quickly become a full-time summer tourist attraction. And it is touting its show beyond the 87 golf courses, 600 tennis courts and more than 15,400 hotel rooms dotting the desert landscape.
The city of Palm Springs is the most notorious destination in the Coachella Valley, which butts up against the San Jacinto Mountains to the west and the Santa Rosa Mountains to the south. The Valley is divided into eight distinct communities: Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta and Indio.
