Article: Nepal Maoists abduct three ITC joint venture employees

Kathmandu, Feb 4 -- Nepal's Maoist guerrillas have abducted three employees of the Indian tobacco giant ITC's joint venture in the kingdom, the blue chip Surya Nepal Private Ltd.

Dambar M. Limbu, Prabhakar Shah and Sharbajit Rana were abducted Friday evening when they were heading towards Birgunj in southeastern Nepal from their office in Simra in Bara district, also in southeast Nepal.

In a well-planned operation, the rebels followed the employee's car, stopped it on the way and took them away to an undisclosed destination after setting the car on fire.

Last week, a prominent contractor was also abducted by the guerrillas from Simra and released later.
