The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development issued the following news release:
Eight organizations have been selected to receive the first Maryland Traditions' inaugural Project Grants Awards. These organizations will receive funding for innovative projects instituted between January and July 2006 that work to document, preserve, and present the state's rich traditional arts and culture. Grant requests for the Maryland Traditions Project Grant Program range from $1,000 to $5,000. For the 2006 awards, $25,000 was budgeted for the program.
