Article: MOTORCYCLE SAFETY PROGRAM GOING STRONG AT 30

Illinois State University issued the following news release:

When you say you are glad to see Vernon Hanks, director of Illinois State University's Motorcycle Safety Program, he will reply that it is good to be seen. Being seen is important to a motorcyclist's safety and that is a message the Motorcycle Safety Program has brought to thousands of Illinois citizens over the past 30 years.

Since it was established in 1976, Illinois State's Motorcycle Safety Program, part of the Department of Health Sciences, has provided rider safety training for more than 43,000 people. More than 3,800 students are expected to participate in the more than 300 classes offered this year.
