HONORS GROW FOR TEXAS A&M HORTICULTURE STUDENTS AT SOUTHERN COMPETITION

Texas A&M University, a component of the public university system in Texas, issued the following news from its argiculture program:

The Texas A&M University Horticulture Club team placed first at the Southern Region American Society for Horticultural Science, according to Dr. Dan Lineberger, horticulture professor and club advisor.

The group competed against students from six other universities at this month's event in Florida.

The team also won first place in two divisions: "vegetable crops," and "greenhouse, florals and foliage." The team nabbed second in the woody ornamentals and the fruit and nut crop divisions.
