REP. MANZULLO, COLLEAGUES URGE GOV. BLAGOJEVICH TO RELEASE FEDERAL FUNDS FOR ROAD, TRANSIT PROJECTS IN ILLINOIS

Rep. Don Manzullo (R-IL) and five other Members of Congress from Illinois today sent a letter to Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich urging him to stop playing politics with federal road money and start spending the billions of dollars Congress approved for Illinois' roads and transit projects last summer.

The 2005 federal transportation bill, which President Bush signed into law in northern Illinois last August, provides $6.1 billion over the next 5 years for Illinois, a 33-percent increase from the last federal road bill.
