U.S. AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT REGIONAL MISSION ASIA'S HANOI OFFICE IN VIETNAM SUPPORTS NATIONAL ADOPTION OF PROVINCIAL COMPETITIVENESS INDEX

The United States Agency for International Development Regional Mission Asia's Hanoi office in Vietnam is supporting the national adoption of a Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). The Index measures the strengths and weaknesses of provincial economic governance. This month the PCI was selected by Vietnam Television as one of the 10 most important economic events in Vietnam in 2005.

The second annual PCI assessment was launched in January through USAID in close coordination with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and provincial governments. 30,000 Questionnaires were sent to domestic enterprises in 60 provinces. ...
