Article: Native American Languages Preservation Act Introduced by Rep. Wilson

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 -- Rep. Heather Wilson, R-N.M., has introduced the Native American Languages Preservation Act of 2006 (H.R. 4766), legislation that would "amend the Native American Languages Act to provide for the support of Native American language survival schools."

The bill, introduced on Feb. 15, is being co-sponsored by Rep. Rick Renzi, R-Ariz. It was referred to the House Education and the Workforce Committee.
