The city of Corpus Christi issued the following press release:
The Corpus Christi City Council today approved the donation by Spain of the full-scale replica sailing vessels Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria to the City of Corpus Christi. The Pinta and Santa Maria are currently located at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History and the Nina is moored at the Lawrence Street T-Head in the Corpus Christi Marina.
Ever since the ships sailed to the United States from Spain in 1992 to commemorate the voyage of Christopher Columbus in 1492, they have been owned by the Spain-U.S.A. Foundation in Washington, D.C. The Foundation recently stated its wishes to support the Museum and the City in the ...
