The city of Seattle issued the following news release:
March is national "Adopt-A-Rescued-Guinea Pig Month" and the Seattle Animal Shelter is using the occasion to showcase the wonderful animals currently available for adoption at the shelter.
"Guinea pigs are one of the most common animals abandoned at shelters" say Animal Shelter Director Don Jordan. "These small mammals make excellent pets. They are intelligent, social animals, capable of forming lifelong bonds with humans. Whether housed in an apartment or a home, the quiet well-mannered guinea pig will be a welcome addition to any family.
