U.S. TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY PROVIDES GRANT TO ENHANCE GEORGIA'S ENERGY SECURITY

The U.S. Trade & Development Agency issued the following press release:

Increasing Georgia's power infrastructure to enhance the nation's energy security and promote economic growth is the goal of a U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) grant awarded yesterday to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Georgia. The $356,000 grant will fund a feasibility study on development of a second high voltage (500Kv) transmission line between the Zestaphoni and Gardabani stations.

The grant was conferred in a signing ceremony held during the opening reception for the Invest in Georgia Forum, an event cosponsored by the Georgian government and the International Finance Corporation. USTDA ...
