Procedure provides plausible option for patients seeking efficacy and fewer days of downtime
La Jolla, Calif. - The data continue to show that topical growth factors may be an effective way to treat aging skin, according to Richard E. Fitzpatrick, M.D.
"A lot of patients nowadays don't have the time for a significant procedure that involves downtime," said Dr. Fitzpatrick, associate clinical professor, University of California, San Diego. "These growth factors have the potential of being an adjunct to simple, nonablative resurfacing procedures, or they have potential of being very useful as a monotherapy. They add to the armamentarium of the treatment of photoaging.
