Bangalore, March 5 -- Karnataka Police have registered a dowry death case against a software engineer and his family for the unnatural death of his wife here, a top official said Sunday.
Though Sourab Goyal, 24, hailing from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh alleged his wife Monica, 21, had committed suicide by hanging on Jan 25, her father Kamal Agarwal, filed formal charges with the state DGP B.S. Sial that his daughter was harassed and murdered by her husband and in-laws for dowry.
According to the complaint, Monica's body had blue scars on the neck and bore bruises, indicating she was tortured and gagged to death.
But Goyal registered a case of suicide by Monica with the Girinagar police station ...
