Chandigarh/Ropar, March 8 -- In an attempt to earn a handsome income for their poor families, who are generally debt-ridden, a large number of Punjabis are drawn to Middle Eastern countries for search of greener pastures in life. Their main motivation is the relatively relaxed visa policies and availability of numerous jobs opportunities in the East.
According to N.S.Khalsi, Commissioner of NRI (Non-Resident Indians), Punjab, migration to foreign countries has always been a common trend among the Punjabis and the West Asia is just the next destination.
