The Georgia Department of Agriculture issued the following news release:
Today, Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin 'seriously cautions the public' not to consume the product "Egg Salad on Vienna Bread, Pilot good to go," packaged by Pierre Foods, Inc., Cincinnati, OH. The sandwiches are primarily sold at Pilot Travel Centers that sell gasoline.
The frozen egg salad sandwiches, thawed, and sold as a single sandwich, is packaged as twelve 4.50 ounce sandwiches with the lot code #5355 printed on the package. Manufactured by Classic Delight, Inc., St. Marys, OH, the egg salad sandwiches are labeled and distributed by Pierre Foods.
