BROWNIES have tempted Americans for nearly 100 years. And for Valentine's Day, when gifts of chocolate are customary, brownie companies can expect to be very busy. Scores of companies send brownies gift-wrapped with messages on cards. Only a credit card and a telephone or fax machine are needed. Faxing and overnight delivery are new, but buying brownies by mail is actually as old as the brownie itself.
