WHEN shopping for a computer system, the last features that buyers typically consider, if they consider them at all, are the audio speakers. Most multimedia computers are equipped with a pathetic pair of plastic-encased speakers of a fidelity about equal to a clock radio. These acoustic toys are adequate because many computers sold today are for offices, where any sound above two decibels is likely to be too loud and anything that smacks of entertainment is frowned upon.
