NATIONAL LEAGUE ROUNDUP; Six Pirates Pitchers Shut Out the Phillies - New York Times

Steve Pearce broke up a scoreless game with a run-scoring double in the 12th inning, and six Pittsburgh Pirates pitchers held down the host Philadelphia Phillies in a 2-0 victory Friday night. The Phillies were shut out for the second straight day and watched their lead in the National League East shrink to a game over the Mets, who beat the Florida Marlins, 3-0. Philadelphia has gone 23 innings without scoring a run. Ryan Doumit started the 12th with a double off Phillies reliever Les Walrond (0-1).
