Iraqi Government Welcomes Bush Strategy

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The Iraqi government spokesman chided the United States, Iran and Syria on Thursday for using his country as a political battleground, saying "we pay the price for the tension" between the three rivals and urging them to improve their relations.

Ali al-Dabbagh also called on Syria and Iran not to interfere in Baghdad's internal affairs. Both have been accused by the United States and Iraq of supporting insurgents and militias that are ravaging Iraq with sectarian war.
