SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea agrees in principle that regular train service should begin on restored tracks across the heavily armed border with South Korea, a top Seoul official said Friday after a historic test run.
Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung said he could sense the North "has the will" to start the train service while talking to his North Korean counterpart, Kwon Ho Ung, during Thursday's test run.
"I believe it will be realized without any big problems," Lee said during a radio interview, adding that the North understands that the test run was based on an assumption that the rails would formally open.
