LOS ANGELES - Nomar Garciaparra's solo homer highlighted a four-run fifth inning Friday night and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied three times to take a 7-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The win kept Los Angeles 1 1/2 games back of San Diego in the NL wild-card race. The Diamondbacks' West division lead over the Padres dropped to three.
Brad Penny (16-4) went five innings for the Dodgers, who finally scored their first earned run against Doug Davis and finished with six runs - four earned - against the Diamondbacks' left-hander.
Davis went in with a 3-1 career record against Los Angeles, and hadn't allowed the Dodgers an earned run during his four starts spanning 30 innings. ...
