SAN FRANCISCO - It hasn't taken long for the Colorado pitching staff to impress Jeremy Affeldt. Jason Jennings turned in another quality start but Affeldt got the win when Clint Barmes singled home the go-ahead run in the 11th inning of the Rockies' 2-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday night.
"It's been amazing to watch these guys pound the strike zone and go seven or eight innings," said Affeldt, who joined the Rockies last week. "That's a lot of rest for the bullpen. It's some of the best pitching I've seen in a long time from starters."
Jennings was nearly unhittable, turning in his ninth quality start in his last 10. He allowed one run and five hits in seven innings. ...
