CARSON, Calif. - Juan Pablo Garcia scored in the 81st minute to lift Chivas USA to a 1-1 tie against FC Dallas on Saturday night.

Kenny Cooper scored 10 minutes into the second half to give FC Dallas a 1-0 lead, before Garcia netted the equalizer.

FC Dallas (14-8-4) extended its lead over second-place Houston to 12 points and will clinch a playoff spot with a win Wednesday if the Los Angeles Galaxy loses its match on Sunday.

Chivas (8-7-11) moved into a tie with Colorado for third place in the Western Conference.
