Article: AK Steel Union Workers Reject Contract

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - AK Steel union workers voted Monday to reject what the company called its final contract offer, extending the seven-month-old standoff at the Middletown Works plant.

Machinists union local president Brian Daley said the contract was rejected "substantially" but didn't immediately release vote numbers.

Hundreds of union workers gathered outside a veterans' hall to await the vote count cheered Daley's announcement.
