SAN FRANCISCO - The elite track coach who trained Justin Gatlin, Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery was charged Thursday with hindering the federal steroids probe he helped launch three years ago when he mailed a syringe of a designer drug to anti-doping agents.
Trevor Graham was charged with three counts of making false statements to federal agents in an indictment issued by the grand jury investigating performance-enhancing drugs in professional sports.
If convicted, Graham faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $750,000 fine. He was summoned to appear for arraignment Nov. 16 in U.S. District Court.
