Reference Results Basics
The total number of results that our HighBeam Research Engine found will be displayed in the upper right corner of the High Beam Reference results page. This is the total number of results that matched your search of the keywords you are researching. Each result lists the article title, the date of the reference and the source of the article.
If you are an unregistered visitor, or a registered Basic Member, you will see the free results at the top of the page, and the results that require Full Membership (What's This?) To see more free results, you can select "more results" by clicking on the link at the top of the free results list.
HighBeam Research Full Members see the free and paid results all together.

Display Settings on the Reference Results Page
You can customize the display of the HighBeam Reference results page by using the display settings options.
Open Links in New Window: When this box is checked, clicking on a result will display that result by opening a new window, allowing you to keep your search results list. When this box is unchecked, selecting a reference result will display the result in the current window.
Font Size: The font size feature allows you to select the size of the characters displayed on the screen.
Font Type: The font type feature allows you to customize the typeface you prefer (e.g., Arial or Times New Roman).
Results Per Page: Select from displaying 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 results per page by using this drop down box in the upper right corner of the search results list.

Save this Search
HighBeam Research helps you save time by saving your searches. If a particular search generates helpful results, you can save that search and quickly use it again later. To save a search, click on the "Save this Search to My Saved Searches" link underneath the search box. Your reference search will be saved in My Research Center along with your saved searches from all other areas of HighBeam Research.

Save This Article
HighBeam Research also helps you save time by giving you the opportunity to save specific articles you would like to reread without requiring you to do your search all over again. With HighBeam Research you can save articles into a folder and even create new folders to organize the articles that you have found. Basic and Full Members can click on the Save Article link in the tools section of any article. After clicking on the Save article link, a window will appear and will ask you to choose a folder to save the article. You can either use a folder from the list, or, you can create a new folder with a name you choose. Your reference article will be saved in My Research Center along with your saved articles from all other areas of HighBeam Research.

Link to this Article
You can Link to HighBeam Reference articles from your site and provide your visitors with information from any of our 610,000 reference documents. Click on the Link to this document link in the Tools section on the document page and a new window will pop up containing the full link you are to use on your website. To add a link simply cut the HTML code from the box below and paste it on to the area of your site that you would like the link to appear.

Export To Microsoft Office
HighBeam Research makes it easy for you to organize and manage your research. Exporting to Office allows you to put your research into a Microsoft Office Word or PowerPoint document. To export:
- Click on the Export To Microsoft Office Word or Microsoft Office PowerPoint link on the article page.
- After clicking on "Export to Word" or "Export to PowerPoint" a new window will appear.
- Follow the instructions in that window, and click on the "Export to Word" link on that page.
- After clicking on "Export", a new window will open up. Save the document using "Save As".
- Change the file type to "Word Document" (.doc) or "PowerPoint presentation" as appropriate
- Change the name of the file to something you will remember.
- The document will be displayed as a Word document in your browser. To view all your Word tool bars, you may have to close the document and reopen it in Word or PowerPoint.
