DOUGLAS -- Douglas Village Council announced Monday that Laurie Kelly will be the new village manager. She replaces Terry Hofmeyer, who retired June 30 after serving the village for 61/2 years.
Kelly, of Grand Rapids, is a lawyer with experience in real estate and zoning. She said it was time to leave private practice to serve the public, and Douglas was exactly the place she wanted to do that.
"It has been a long-standing desire to move into the public sector, and Douglas definitely caught my eye," Kelly said.
