Forestry Commission selling seedlings. (Forestry).(Brief Article)

The Arkansas Forestry Commission is accepting tree seedling orders for the 2003-2004 planting season.

Order forms are available at any Arkansas Forestry Commission office, Natural Resources Conservation Service, County Agent's Office or the Farm Service Agency. Orders also may be placed through the AFC Web site at www.forestry.state.ar.us.

Two species of genetically improved pine -- loblolly and shortleaf pine -- are available this year. The pines are priced at $35 per 1,000 with a minimum order of 500 at $25.

Eleven species of oak seedlings, are available this year, including cherrybark, chestnut, nuttall, overcup, pin, swamp ...
