Study finds radiofrequency device tightens skin laxity after one treatment.(Special report: facial enhancements)

Washington, D.C. -- A radiofrequency device improved prominent nasolabial folds by approximately 50 percent and significantly tightened cheek skin laxity after one treatment, reported Tina Alster, M.D. The device left the epidermis intact and patients were immediately able to return to normal activities.

Nonablative lasers such as the long-pulsed Nd:Yag (CoolTouch, Laser Aesthetics) and diode (SmoothBeam, Candela) improve skin texture and reduce superficial wrinkles and scars, Dr. Alster said.
