Lawrence, Kansas -- The picture that explains everything hangs just to the left of Bill Self's new desk.

At first glance, it's little more than a snapshot of the 1985-86 University of Kansas basketball team - one of KU's best teams. It was a team that lost to Duke in the Final Four, finished the season 35-4 and was never ranked lower than fourth in the country. Danny Manning, then a sophomore, was the Big Eight player of the year, Ron Kellogg was All-Big Eight and Larry Brown was two years away from leading the Jayhawks to the national title.
