Canpotex Limited of Canada announced on Dec. 11, 2003 that it has signed a sales confirmation with SINOPEC, the biggest caustic potash in China, on selling 1.5 million tons of caustic potash to China in 2004. It is the first year for the implementation of the 3-year MOU signed in August 2003. The agreement covers a 10% option and also stipulates that the selling price of potash fertilizer will increase by US$3 per ton.
