Philip clough is one of many company presidents who occupies a corner office in Manhattan. But he may be the only one who ever planted a pear tree on a New York City street corner.

Possessing a green thumb and a finely honed appreciation for history, the new president of Kiehl's Since 1851 pitched in with the planting recently outside Kiehl's flagship at the corner of East 13th Street and Third Avenue-restoring a little piece of company and city history.
