Mar. 15--LAS VEGAS -- The big investment Amarillo made five years ago to persuade Bell Helicopter to put an aircraft assembly plant there continues to pay off for the Texas Panhandle city.
Bell officials on Sunday announced plans to assemble one additional helicopter in Amarillo and possibly another, the US-101 presidential transport helicopter, if the government chooses that aircraft to fill the role of the next-generation Marine One.
