Aquaculture springs up in West Virginia.

West Virginia's Morgan Spring feeds fresh water to the Freshwater Institute's aquaculture research projects. Agricultural Research Service scientists working at the institute are raising rainbow trout in high-technology indoor tanks and low-technology outdoor tanks. Researchers are also examining the use of fish waste as fertilizer for vegetables, fruit and ornamental crops.
