The 1992 Energy Policy Act (EPACT) imposes minimum energy efficiency standards for several energy-consuming products. One of the most important products covered by EPACT are fluorescent lamps. Although some types of fluorescent lamps are not included, many categories which do not meet EPACT criteria for energy-to-light conversion efficiency will be eliminated. Several tips on EPACT compliance are presented.
