Thirty-two men of African descent were included in the 50 great basketball players selected by a panel of media, former players and coaches. Bill Russell played from 1956-69. Elgin Baylor played from 1958-72, and a third early Black member of the NBA was Wilt Chamberlain from 1959-73.
