NEW YORK -- The Andrew Jergens Co. will enter the thriving therapeutic skin care market as a result of its agreement Wednesday to purchase Bausch & Lomb's skin care business for $135 million.
Jergens's acquisition of Curel, a line of therapeutic skin moisturizing products, and Soft Sense, a value-priced hand and body lotion brand, will provide the company with clout in the therapeutic segment of skin care. Curel was the number-five best-selling brand in the hand and body lotion category last year, according to figures from sales-tracking firm Information ...
