The local SOCIEDAD QUIMICA Y MINERA DE CHILE SA (SQM) is currently involved in the construction of a water-soluble nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium fertilizer plant somewhere in the U.S. And, the company recently revealed the nature and scope of its planned $200,000,000 business development plans.

It is thus that a portion of its investment program, that will run from 1999 to 2001, will serve to finance the construction of 2 new plants.
