The sky's the limit when decorating your child's room. Or maybe the Milky Way, if you decide to paint a star-drenched solar system on your little one's ceiling.

While decorating your child's room can and should be a wonderful opportunity to indulge your passion for fantasy, the bottom-line basics should still come first, says Lisa S. Brock, owner of Lisa Brock Designs in Alexandria.
