Washington, DC -- The Air Transport Association (ATA) Office of Economics reports that airline ticket prices increased in April as a result of rising fuel costs. Average fares increased 2.4 percent in April, or $3.35, over the average price a year ago. Coach fares were up 1.8 percent or $2.21; and first-class fares increased 4.0 percent, or $12.82, during April.
