USE KELTHANE ON HIBISCUS TO GET RID OF SPIDER MITES.(HOME & GARDEN)

Byline: ROBERT STIFFLER, GARDENING COLUMNIST

Enclosed are three hibiscus leaves. Something is killing the plants. The way the problem starts is a browning of a leaf, and then it turns completely brown and falls off. What is the problem and what can I do to restore these plants?

As to winter care, I water twice a week with a weak solution of Miracle Gro in a south-facing window where they get five hours of sun daily. For summer care, I put them in direct sun and use Miracle Gro as needed. In late October, I cut them back to 1 1/2 feet to bring them into the house. The plants are 10 years old.
