Neutrogena is debuting a cleanser

LOS ANGELES--Neutrogena is rolling out a new antiseptic cleanser for acne-prone skin, while readying summer promotions for other lines. Both alcohol- and fragrance-free, Antiseptic Cleanser is a liquid anti-bacterial facial product positioned to compete with facial astringents.

It is important to note, however, that the latest Neutrogena offering is not a true astringent. A special ingredient (benzethonium chloride), replacing alcohol as the active agent, removes surface bacteria and evaporates without drying and flaking.
