MY Renault Laguna 2.2 diesel estate had covered 85,000 miles when the water pump failed. To add insult to injury, it was serviced by a Renault main dealer 3,000 miles previously. Seizure of the water pump led to cambelt failure and it will cost at least pounds 1,380 to replace the pump, rockers and so on. The Renault garage might also have to replace covers and camshafts, which could bring the bill to pounds 2,700.
